Based on the new innovative architecture design, MRD Series PCI-E Sub Storage is designed by installing any standard SAS or SATA PCI-e Raid Controller Card directly into its internal PCI-e slot and uses the high speed external PCI-Express x8 (2GB/s) host adapter as the host interface. In addition to the 32TB (Terabytes) of storage capacity, it also featured PCI-Express slots expander to solve the PCI-e slot shortage problem. It has build-in 3 extra PCI-e slots (one PCE-e x8 or two PCI-e x4 slots) for any of your PCI-e expansion need.
The MRD 3U 16-bays unit provides sixteen (16) removable drive trays with key lock. Each tray has built-in power, activity and failure LED indicators. The HDD backplane supports SGPIO for HDD fail signal management and environmental detection for both fan failures and temperature increase over 50°C, plus mutable buzzer alarm. The chassis is build with heavy-duty cold-rolled steel metal manufactured to EIA-RS310D industry Standard and RoHS Compliance. Advance thermal cooling design with two of 75mm tool-less hot-swap blowers fan for ideal ventilation that optimizes airflow to keep system cooler and easy maintenance.
It provides users 32TB (Terabytes) of storage capacity using Western Digital Enterprise HDD, the WD RE4-GP. Including features such as Serial ATA 3 Gb/s, 64MB cache, 7200 RPM and RAID-specific, time-limited error recovery (TLER) technology, this makes it the ideal drive.
Pairing these HDD's with Areca ARC-1261ML, configured with a RAID 5 setting, average Read/Write are in the range of 800MB/S. This high performance external data storage solution is perfect for 1080p HD video editing, Video Surveillance, or other demanding read/write intensive applications.
