Plug any standard SAS or SATA PCI-e Raid Controller Card directly into its internal PCI-e slot and connect to the host computer using the high speed external PCI-Express x8 (2GB/s) host adapter and PCI-e external cable.
MRD Series 4U Expandable Rackmount Raid Storage is the highest density of PCI-e (Host) to SAS/SATA (Disk) storage product line from Rackmountchassisplus.com. It's not only a direct access external storage unit capable of housing 24 hard drives, but it also featured PCI-Express slots expander to solve the PCI-e slot shortage problem in server or workstation. It has build-in 3 slots of PCI-e x8 and 4 slots of PCI-e x4 for any of your PCI-e expansion need.
This unit only requires a PCI-e slot (x8) from host server and provides a mass storage capacity plus 7 more PCI-e slots.
The MRD 4U 24-bays unit provides twenty four removable drive trays with key lock. Each tray has built-in power, activity and failure LED indicators. The HDD backplane supports SGPIO for HDD fail signal management and environmental detection for both fan failures and temperature over 50°C, plus mutable buzzer alarm. The chassis is build with heavy-duty cold-rolled steel metal manufactured to EIA-RS310D industry Standard and RoHS Compliance. Advance thermal cooling design with two of 9cm fans on the back of the unit and 3 x 6cm hot swappable fans in the middle that optimizes airflow to keep system cooler and for easy maintenance.
It provides users 24TB (Terabytes) of storage capacity using Western Digital newest Enterprise HDD, the WD RE3. Enterprise featured Serial ATA 3 Gb/s, 32MB cache, 7200 RPM and RAID-specific, time-limited error recovery (TLER) technology, this makes it the ideal drive.
Pairing these HDD's with Areca ARC-1280ML, configured with a RAID 5 setting, average Read/Write are in the range of 800MB/S. An industrial grade, tri-module 650w redundant power supply provides a true zero down-time. Cooling are performed by 2 x 90mm and 3 x 60mm Cooling Fans.
